Taly Kadoch, LMHC, CAP
I am dedicated to helping people who are struggling with life challenges, domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, shame and guilt or mood and personality disorders. My experience ranges from higher mental health to working heavily with dual diagnosis, but my areas of specialized training and high interest are devoted to working with both simple and complex trauma, existential matters, and issues surrounding sex and sexuality. I am a certified EMDR practitioner also trained in forward facing trauma. I Trained at the Institute of Essential Change for Clinical Sexology and am a certified DBT practitioner. I work with process disorders such as narcissistic abuse, and co-dependency.
My approach is unique in that I draw from hypnotic techniques designed specifically to access subconscious material that is typically harder to obtain because it is not in our immediate purview. The tools I provide are geared for more rapid breakthroughs with clients who have previously not responded favorably to talk therapy. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is widely known and can be one of the most effective treatments available, some people do not fully emerge in this type of modality. Emotive therapy and hypnotic treatments focus more on engaging and shifting long standing and deep rooted emotions that we often withhold from addressing because they are either too painful, or entrenched, subconscious or embedded in bodily sensations. The mind serves as a barrier by protecting ourselves from these emotions by blocking memories, images and details out. is known as deletion and distortion. As a trauma focused therapist, I believe strongly that without identifying these blind spots, surface or temporary relief of symptoms can occur, but we withhold the gift of true healing from ourselves by doing so. Additionally, I personally have a diverse journey with my own culturally diverse history, as well as experience traveling a wide span of of our little world. In doing so, I have been fortunate to gain an expanded perspective on various cultures, attitudes, and beliefs that contribute to daily challenges. Diversity has helped me be a more accessible resource to a larger variety of the population. My fascination with understanding how we “come to be” has driven me to pursue multiple extraneous modalities with additional training
Background
I graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Psychology and a BA in English literature. I proceeded to graduate from Florida International University with a Masters in psychology, in mental health counseling. I obtained my license accordingly. I have been working with addictions, personality and mood disorders for over nineteen years now. I specialize in trauma, addictive disorders ,sex addiction, and other process disorders such as co-dependency, narcissism and shoplifting. These issues often surround trauma and cannot be separated. I consider this my area of expertise. With time, I have recognized that this population often needs alternative methods to treat various components because of the chronic and progressive nature of these behaviors. I strongly believe that knowledge, while helpful, is not enough to make the internal shifts and transformations needed to abate behaviors. I strive to provide clients with new and innovative ways to address their strengths and guide their healing process.
